OH/JL lists John Proudfoot as having scored one of the Thistle goals but, according to our GH teamline, the only Proudfoot was playing at number 5 on this day, and we'd presume this to be David. We note that the OH lists David at number 5 and John at number 9. Until such times as we can find a contempoarary source which confirms John Proudfoot as playing and scoring, we have taken a chance by placing the goal with David Proudfoot in the meantime.

There was a brisk start by both teams but Thistle had the edge. Wilkie scored “a beauty” (SR) then Kilmarnock levelled with a daisy-cutter. They went ahead from a corner (35) and went inches from adding to their lead after half-time but Proudfoot scored (77) “amidst deafening cheers”.
