Airdrie faced a gale in the first half that made good football impossible. After even play and chances Wilkie scored from a scrimmage, ball and keeper bundled in, but it was soon level. Paul made it 2-1 but Airdrie fought back again before half-time. Airdrie carried an injured man and struggled then Freebairn scored the winner.
