Hampden Park was opened with this match. Arnott and Sellars were absent from the Queen's. In seven minutes the Thistle cleverly scored. A penalty kick against them proved unsuccessful. Partick had also a goal disallowed. Before half-time the Thistle got a second point, a third following immediately thereafter, followed by a fourth in rapid succession. The Thistle played grandly. The Queen's scored ten minutes from the interval, repeating immediately afterwards. Two goals down, the Queen's resumed indifferently, but had the first try. They improved and kept the Thistle on the defence, which was good. After twenty minutes pressure the Queen's got through the third point, and immediately afterwards equalised. Watt was not particularly bright, but Gulliland on the left was a treat. McCorkindale's goal-keeping was a feature. A quarter of an hour from time the Hampden Park team took the lead, and put on the sixth. Five minutes to time the Thistle responded with the fifth. Result:- Queen's Park, six goals; Thistle, five goals.
