 Malcolm Murray was born on Sunday, 26th July, 1964, in Buckie, Banffshire. The 5' 11 (11st 2lbs) defender signed for John Lambie's Thistle circa Monday, 4th February, 1991, having most recently been with Mansfield Town. Aged 27, he made his debut appearance on Tuesday, 3rd December, 1991, in a 1-1 draw at home to Forfar Athletic in the SFL First Division. There were no goals for Malcolm during his time with Thistle. He played his last game for the club on Tuesday, 21st July, 1992, in a 2-0 friendly win away to Peterhead, having appeared as a Jag on 26 occasions. Malcolm's club-list included Buckie Thistle, Heart of Midlothian, Stirling Albion, St Johnstone, Hull City, Mansfield Town, Meadowbank Thistle, Partick Thistle, Clydebank and Arbroath. |
 Not the most high profile signing made by John Lambie, but a very important one nevertheless. Arrived from Mansfield Town half way through the 91/92 season, and soon made the right full-back slot his own, playing in the side that clinched promotion to the Premier league. Was still at the club the following pre-season but was in dispute with the club and didn't re-sign and therefore missed out on the opportunity to play in the top flight with Thistle. After leaving Firhill he had spells with Clydebank and Meadowbank. Went on to manage Highland League side Deveronvale. |
