Alexander Grant was born on Tuesday, 27th February, 1962, in Glasgow.

The 6' 1 (12st 12lbs) forward signed for Billy Lamont's Thistle circa Saturday, 2nd July, 1988, having most recently been with Falkirk.

Aged 26, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 30th July, 1988, in a 2-0 friendly win away to Alloa Athletic.

Lex scored his first goal for Thistle on Friday, 5th August, 1988, in a 3-2 friendly win away to Portadown.

He scored the last of his 3 goals on Tuesday, 18th April, 1989, in a 1-0 win away to Queen's Park in the Glasgow Cup.

He played his last game for the club on Wednesday, 11th April, 1990, in a 3-0 friendly win at home to Stjarnan, having appeared as a Jag on 24 occasions.

Lex's club-list included Queen's Park, Ayr United, Clydebank, Falkirk, Partick Thistle, East Stirlingshire and Stranraer.

Bio Extra

Experienced midfielder or forward who was signed from Falkirk. Previously had been with Queen's Park and Clydebank, where he was a great favourite, and Ayr. Although he showed himself to a very skillful player in the reserves, he never showed his ability in first team games. During his last season he was loaned to East Stirling. He was released at the end of the season and joined Stranraer.
