Kenneth Smith was born on Friday, 9th October, 1959, in Dumbarton.

The 6' 2 (13st 2lbs) defender signed for Bertie Auld's Thistle on Tuesday, 5th August, 1980 (after a trial period), having most recently been with Leven Valley Juveniles.

Aged 20, he made his debut appearance on Monday, 28th July, 1980, in a 1-0 friendly win away to Caledonian.

There were no goals for Kenny during his spell with Thistle.

He played his last game for the club on Wednesday, 15th September, 1982, in a 2-1 defeat away to Ayr United in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 8 occasions.

Kenny's club-list included Leven Valley Juveniles, Partick Thistle, East Stirlingshire, Kirkintilloch Rob Roy and Vale of Leven.

Bio Extra

Signed from Leven Bank Juveniles as a 21-year-old, the tall centre-half was unable to break through into the side. Played once in the relegation season 8l/82, and once against Queens Park in the First Division. Left the club at the end of the season.
