Kenneth McDowall was born on Monday, 29th July, 1963, in Glasgow.

The 5' 8 (10st 4lbs) forward signed for Bertie Auld's Thistle on Tuesday, 5th August, 1980, having most recently been with Drumchapel Amateurs.

Aged 18, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 28th November, 1981, in a 2-0 defeat at home to Celtic in the SFL Premier Division.

Kenny scored his first goal for Thistle on Wednesday, 28th July, 1982, in a 3-1 friendly defeat away to Linlithgow Rose.

He scored the last of his 26 goals on Saturday, 8th September, 1984, in a 1-1 draw away to Meadowbank Thistle in the SFL First Division.

He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 15th September, 1984, in a 1-0 defeat at home to Airdrieonians in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 94 occasions.

Kenny's club-list included Drumchapel Amateurs, Partick Thistle and St Mirren.

Bio Extra

Kenny was signed from school in 1980, and made his debut in 1981. Hard worker who combined well with Maunce Johnston and created many chances for him. When Johnston left he was forced to create and finish efforts, something he could not do regularly. Despite this he was the top scorer in 83/84. Left Firhill to join St Mirren in 1984, and spent some considerable time at Love Street.
