Jose Manuel Quitongo was born on Monday, 18th November, 1974, in Luanda.

The 5' 8 (11st 0lbs) forward signed for Dick Campbell's Thistle on Saturday, 25th March, 2006, having most recently been with Alloa Athletic.

Aged 31, he made his debut appearance (as a trialist) on Tuesday, 28th February, 2006, in a 2-1 defeat away to Alloa Athletic in the SFL Second Division.

There were no goals for Jose in his spell with Thistle.

He played his second and last game for the club on Saturday, 1st April, 2006, in a 3-2 defeat at home to Alloa Athletic in the SFL Second Division.

Sun-14-May-2006 [a] W2-1* Peterhead (Scottish First Division play-off Final, 2nd leg)
* AET (2-1 90 mins); Thistle won 4-2 on pens

Peterhead went 1-up (5) but Roberts scored (swivel and shot, 8). Peterhead hit woodwork twice and missed a sitter before a 25-yard free-kick from Gibson (B) (90+) took the tie to goalless ET. Ritchie netted the final pen. A win v Peterhead at last and promotion the hard way.
