Historian's note: In their extensive report (almost the length of the page) of the Thistle v Queen's Park Scottish Cup tie of 11 October 1886, the GEP stated that Thistle had "the assistance of J W Holm who rendered such good service against Abercorn last Saturday". On the preceding weekend in question (04.09.1886), the GH had listed "Taylor" as our right back as opposed to Holm. We've therefore presumed "Taylor" (listed as "A. Taylor" in the OH) to be a psuedonym for Holm. The same "Taylor" was also listed in the GH on the preceding Saturday to that (28.08.1886), so we've interpreted that Holm actually played in 5 games from August to September 1886.
