John Paul McBride was born on Tuesday, 28th November, 1978, in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire. The 5' 10 (10st 2lbs) midfielder signed for Gerry Collins's Thistle on Wednesday, 18th June, 2003, having most recently been with Derry City. Aged 24, he made his debut appearance on Wednesday, 16th July, 2003, in a 6-1 friendly win away to Ayr United. John Paul scored his first goal for Thistle on Sunday, 7th December, 2003, in a 1-0 win at home to Motherwell in the Scottish Premier League. He scored his second and final goal for the club on Saturday, 7th February, 2004, in a 5-1 win at home to Hamilton Academical in the Scottish Cup. He played his last game for Thistle on Saturday, 24th April, 2004, in a 1-0 defeat at home to Dundee in the Scottish Premier League, having appeared as a Jag on 30 occasions. John Paul's club-list included Celtic, St Johnstone, Aarhus Fremad, Derry City, Partick Thistle, Stenhousemuir, Stirling Albion, Wishaw and Thorniewood United. |
