John Kerr was probably born in Scotland, although his place and date of birth remain unknown to us. *

The forward joined Thistle in 1890.

He made his first known appearance on Saturday, 16th August, 1890, in a 9-6 friendly win away to Port Glasgow Athletic.

John scored his first known goal for Thistle on Saturday, 4th October, 1890, in a 2-2 friendly draw at home to Hibernian.

He scored his second (and final known) goal for us on Saturday, 11th October, 1890, in a 5-2 win at home to Pollokshaws in the Glasgow Cup.

He played his last known game for the club on Saturday, 15th November, 1890, in a 4-1 friendly defeat at home to Abercorn, having appeared for the Thistle on at least 8 occasions.

His known club-list included only Partick Thistle.
