John Arrol was born on Sunday, 23rd June, 1946, in Glasgow.

The 6' 0 (12st 7lbs) goalkeeper signed for Davie McParland's Thistle on Friday, 1st February, 1974, having most recently been with Dunfermline Athletic.

Aged 28, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 3rd August, 1974, in a 4-3 friendly win at home to Aalborg Boldspilklub.

John kept his one and only clean-sheet on Saturday, 25th January, 1975, in a 0-0 draw away to Motherwell in the Scottish Cup.

That was actually the last of his 17 games for the club.

John's club-list included Duntocher Hibernian, East Stirlingshire, Dundee, Dunfermline Athletic, Partick Thistle, Clyde, St Johnstone and Queen's Park.
