Bio Extra

Ji is very athletic, a talented dribbler and a strong finisher who plays equally well as a no.9 or wide attacker. He can comfortably finish off either foot as well as attacking crosses in the box with real focus.” (ASM)

Started out as a young kid with Pollok United and joined the Thistle Weir Youth Academy in 2017. Progressed through from the U-12s to the U-18s and, at just 15-year-old, was introduced to the Partick Thistle first team in the pre-season of 2021, appearing in a couple of the friendlies. Made the bench in 3 different tourneys in 2021 (League, Challenge Cup & Scottish Cup) and was introduced towards the end of the 2-0 Challenge Cup win at Stranraer in September. Along with Thistle team-mate Zander MacKenzie, Ji was subsequently loaned out to Martin Lauchlan's Petershill for the 2021-22 season, ending on a fantastic high with a winners medal in the West of Scotland Football League Conference C. The Peasy were duly promoted from the 7th to the 6th tier of the Scottish pyramid system.

The 16-year-old signed a two-year modern apprentice contract with Thistle on 5th July 2022, becoming the 29th player to graduate from the academy.
