Bio Extra

A naturally gifted midfield playmaker, comfortable on the ball for one so young. He'd not long turned 17 when he first appeared in Ian McCall's team in October 2020, getting 12 minutes of a belated pre-season friendly against Hearts. Got a brief run-out in a League match at Forfar before the year was out. James got his name on our assist chart that term, providing for Joe Cardle in the end-of-season 3-2 defeat at Montrose. The youngster had done more than enough to warrant the two-year modern apprentice deal that was signed in May, 2021, and Ian McCall swithered as to whether or not to put the young player on the Championship platform, but opted instead for the loan deal with 4th tier Stenhousemuir.

James scored a spectacular debut goal for the Warriors in a 2-1 League Cup win at Dumarton in July 2021. He made 22 appearances during the campaign, but there were no further goals. Upon his return to Thistle, in June, 2022, James scored his first goal for the club, the matchwinner in a 1-0 pre-season friendly win at Kelty.
