James Robert Gibson was born on Tuesday, 19th January, 1980, in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire. The 5' 7 (10st 0lbs) midfielder signed for Dick Campbell's Thistle on Thursday, 2nd June, 2005, having most recently been with Clyde. Aged 25, he made his debut appearance on Wednesday, 20th July, 2005, in a 0-0 friendly draw at home to Sheffield Wednesday. James scored his first goal for Thistle on Saturday, 1st October, 2005, in a 6-1 win away to Alloa Athletic in the SFL Second Division. He scored the last of his 6 goals on Saturday, 3rd February, 2007, in a 1-0 win away to Deveronvale in the Scottish Cup. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 5th January, 2008, in a 2-0 defeat away to St Johnstone in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 95 occasions. James's club-list included Rangers, Clyde, Partick Thistle and East Stirlingshire. |
