James Ewing was probably born in Scotland, although his place and date of birth remain unknown to us. * The 5' 11 (12st 0lbs) defender signed for Donald Turner's Thistle on Friday, 29th April, 1938, having most recently been with Kilsyth Rangers. He made his debut appearance on Saturday, 1st October, 1938, in a 4-2 defeat away to Kilmarnock in the SFL First Division. There were no goals for James during his time with Thistle. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 7th September, 1940, in a 3-3 draw at home to Clyde in the Southern League, having appeared as a Jag on 24 occasions. His club-list included Kilsyth Rangers, Partick Thistle, King's Park, Cowdenbeath and Linlithgow Rose. We don't know where or when James died. *
