James Ferguson Clark was born on Friday, 5th May, 1911, in Kilwinning, North Ayrshire. The 5' 7 (10st 12lbs) forward signed for Donald Turner's Thistle on Thursday, 2nd June, 1932, having most recently been with Kilwinning Eglinton. Aged 21, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 3rd September, 1932, in a 3-0 defeat away to Kilmarnock in the SFL First Division. There were no goals for James during his spell with Thistle. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 29th April, 1933, in a 2-2 draw at home to Third Lanark in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 7 occasions. His club-list included Kilwinning Eglinton, Partick Thistle, Benburb, Southend United, Derry City, Denny Hibernian and Alloa Athletic. James died in 1985, in Renfrewshire, aged 73.
