John Rafferty was born on Tuesday, 3rd May, 1966, in Greenock, Renfrewshire.

The 6' 1 (11st 6lbs) defender signed for Billy Lamont's Thistle circa Saturday, 13th June, 1987, having most recently been with Dumbarton.

Aged 21, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 25th July, 1987, in a 0-0 neutral-venue friendly draw against East Stirlingshire.

There were no goals for Jackie during his time with Thistle.

He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 21st November, 1987, in a 4-1 win away to Forfar Athletic in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 18 occasions.

Jackie's club-list included Dumbarton, Partick Thistle and Largs Thistle.

Signed by Billy Lamont from Dumbarton. Jackie played regularly at the heart of the defence at the start of the season, but was released when John McCormack signed. He left the club in mid-season, destination not known.
