Bio Extra

This flying right back, who can also play as part of a back three, first appeared for Thistle as a loanee from Livingston, notching up 16 appearances for Gary Caldwell's strugglers, after joining in the January 2019 transfer window. Results did improve after that window, but Thistle were only mathematically safe on the (enjoyable) last day of the season, a 3-0 win at Palmerston. Came through the ranks as a youth player at Motherwell where he made his competitive debut as a teenager in a 2-0 League defeat to Celtic. Although he had yet to truly command a starting place anywhere, he played around 60 League games for Livingston between 2018 and 2022. In the summer of 2022, the 24-year-old returned permanently to Firhill in a 2 year deal. With his consistent good form he quickly established himself as an integral part of the first team.

Was indispensable in 2022-23, appearing in all 52 competitive fixtures, scoring 5 goals and registering 12 assists. 52 competitive same-season appearances was the joint 6th highest figure of all-time for any Thistle player. It was the highest tally since Mo Johnston (55) in 1982-83, and 4 off the club-record (56) set by Davie McParland in 1963-64. For many, he was player-of-the-year, and his partnership with Steven Lawless on the right flank paid big dividends. 2023-24 wasn't quite so sparkling, and injury put an end to his excellent appearance run. 2 goals and 5 assists in his 37 games was a downturn, but Jack - along with team-mate Brian Graham - was named in the PFA Scotland Championship Team of the Year, as voted for by the players competing every week in the division. Unfortunately, his last kick of the ball as a Jag was a tired-looking shoot-out penalty which missed the target, as Thistle fell in the Premiership play-offs stage for the third consecutive year.

In the close season of 2024, an offer was made to the player by Thistle, but he declined, preferring to take on a fresh challenge elsewhere.
