John Hendry was born on Friday, 23rd August, 1867, in Uddingston, South Lanarkshire. The defender first appeared for Thistle in April, 1890, having most recently been with Rangers. Aged 22, he made his first known appearance on Saturday, 26th April, 1890, in a 6-2 friendly defeat away to Everton. There were no known goals for Jack during his spell with Thistle. He played his second (and last known) game for the club on Tuesday, 13th May, 1890, in a 3-1 defeat away to Northern in the Maryhill Charity Cup. His club-list included Uddingston, Rangers, Partick Thistle, Notts County, Heanor Town, Sheppey United, Rushden and Northampton Town. Jack died in 1917, in Nottingham, aged 49 or 50. *
