![]() Iain J. Jardine was born on Monday, 17th February, 1958, in Irvine, North Ayrshire. The 5' 10 (12st 0lbs) midfielder signed for Bertie Auld's Thistle on Thursday, 27th September, 1979, having most recently been with Kilmarnock. Aged 21, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 29th September, 1979, in a 2-1 win at home to Hibernian in the SFL Premier Division. Iain scored his first goal for Thistle on Saturday, 3rd November, 1979, in a 2-1 defeat away to Rangers in the SFL Premier Division. He scored the last of his 22 goals on Saturday, 12th May, 1984, in a 2-1 win away to Falkirk in the SFL First Division. He played his last game for the club on Wednesday, 1st August, 1990, in a 1-1 friendly draw away to Gretna, having clocked up 171 appearances as a Jag. Iain's club-list included Irvine Victoria, Kilmarnock, Partick Thistle, Anorthosis, Heart of Midlothian, Cumnock Juniors and Kilwinning Rangers. |
