Gordon Dalziel was born on Friday, 16th March, 1962, in Motherwell, North Lanarkshire.

The 5' 10½ (10st 13lbs) forward signed for Benny Rooney's Thistle circa Saturday, 15th September, 1984, having most recently been with Manchester City.

Aged 22, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 15th September, 1984, in a 1-0 defeat at home to Airdrieonians in the SFL First Division.

Gordon scored his first two goals for Thistle on Saturday, 22nd September, 1984, in a 2-2 draw away to St Johnstone in the SFL First Division.
