Gordon William Chisholm was born on Friday, 8th April, 1960, in Glasgow.

The 6' 0 (12st 9lbs) defender signed for John Lambie's Thistle on Thursday, 16th July, 1992, having most recently been with Dundee.

Aged 32, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 18th July, 1992, in a 3-1 friendly win away to Buckie Thistle.

There were no goals for Gordon during his time with Thistle.

He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 26th September, 1992, in a 2-1 win away to Celtic in the SFL Premier Division, having appeared as a Jag on 12 occasions.

Gordon's club-list included Sunderland, Hibernian, Dundee and Partick Thistle.

Promotion to the Premier League brought on end to the central defensive partnership of Jim Duffy and Gordon Rae. Chisholm was brought in from Dundee to help replace them. He started the season in the first team but it soon became clear that his future lay on the coaching side. He enjoyed a period as an SFA community coach before being appointed assistant manager to Murdo MacLeod. Went on to become assistant manager at Ross County after leaving a similar position at Clydebank.
