Bio Extra

The would-be assistant manager first pulled on a Thistle jersey during Bobby Watson's period of temporary control back in 1988. When John Lambie took over he relied heavily on Collins' influence on and off the park. By the time Lambie left to return, briefly, to Hamilton, Collins was already in semi-retirement on the playing side, but Sandy Clark pressed him back into action, his last appearance coming against Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup.
