| George Hurry |
 George Farquhar Hurry was born on Friday, 15th October, 1869, in Aberdeen. The forward first appeared for Thistle in May, 1893. Aged 23, he made his first known appearance on Wednesday, 17th May, 1893, in a 3-3 neutral-venue draw against Dykebar in the Greenock Charity Cup. George scored his only two goals for Thistle on the same day; on Saturday, 20th May, 1893, in a 6-0 neutral-venue win against Dykebar in the Greenock Charity Cup. He played his last known game for the club on Saturday, 27th May, 1893, in a 7-4 win away to Morton in the Greenock Charity Cup, having appeared for the Thistle on at least 3 occasions. His club-list included Partick Thistle, Clyde, Linthouse and St Mirren. George died on Thursday, 4th April, 1912, in Glasgow, aged 42.

 George was probably a guest or a trialist, and had an exceedingly fruitful couple of weeks as a Jag. Thistle were regular invitees to the end-of-season Greenock Charity Cup organised by Morton, and George played in 3 games for the Jags at Cappielow in the May 1893 event. Dykebar were eliminated at the second attempt on the 20th May, with George netting a brace in the 6-0 win. He earned himself a very handsome winners medal 7 days later as Thistle defeated the host club, Morton, by 7 goals to 4 in an entertaining finale. A prominent outside left in the mid 1890s, George won promotion with Clyde in 1893-94 and turned out for them in the first half of their top-flight campaign the following season. He made the switch to Linthouse in January 1895 and played with them until 1897, with a 5 month spell at St Mirren from July 1895 in-between. |
