The son of George Gorham (printer, b. 1822) and Margaret Gorham (nÊe Allison, b. 1832).

This half-back spent two seasons at Inchview before switching to Glasgow Thistle in May, 1891. “What's Partick Thistle's loss is East End Thistle's gain” opined the Scottish Referee. By 1891, George was boarding in Clydebank, and was employed as an iron turner, most likely in one of the shipyards. George briefly returned to Partick Thistle towards the end of the following season, before signing for Clyde in the springtime of 1892.

In August 1901, the 34-year-old George set sail from Liverpool, bound for New York. By 1918, the 52-year-old was living in Cloquet, Minnesota.
