Aged 22, he made his only appearance on Tuesday, 21st July, 1992, in a 2-0 friendly win away to Peterhead.

That day, Gary became a member of our scoring debutant's club.

Gary's club-list included Darlington, Leicester City, Scunthorpe United, Partick Thistle and Whitby Town.

Bio Extra

Made almost 50 appearances in the Football League playing as a winger for Darlington (from 1987) and was a member of the team that won the 1989–90 Football Conference title. He was on the books of Leicester City (from 1990), without playing for them in the League and joined Scunthorpe United for 1991-92. After departing Scunthorpe in the summer of 1992, he headed North for a trial with John Lambie's newly promoted Partick Thistle, hoping to play in the Premier League. His only game as a trialist came at the Recreation Ground, then home to Peterhead, played before a small crowd of just 300. It was a lacklustre game, played in miserable conditions. A Paul Kinnaird shot rattled the bar but it was goalless at half-time. Davie Irons found woodwork too, before Gary Peebles headed in a Kinnaird cross (62). Peterhead had a man sent off (dissent, 78) before trialist Hyde nipped in to head home (88) to make it look more impressive than it was. Despite his scoring debut, there was no deal, and Gary returned down South to play non-league football with Whitby Town.
