Frank Welsh was born on Friday, 14th May, 1954, in Glasgow. The 5' 11 (11st 0lbs) defender signed for Bertie Auld's Thistle on Friday, 8th August, 1980, having most recently been with Kilmarnock. Aged 26, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 9th August, 1980, in a 3-2 win at home to Heart of Midlothian in the SFL Premier Division. There were no goals for Frank during his time with Thistle. He played his last game for the club on Tuesday, 10th May, 1983, in a 2-0 win at home to Queen's Park in the Glasgow Cup, having appeared as a Jag on 43 occasions. Frank's club-list included Shettleston Juniors, Celtic, Hamilton Academical, Kilmarnock, Partick Thistle and Morton. |
