Edward Thomas McGuinness was born on Saturday, 17th May, 1969, in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire.

The 6' 0 (13st 4lbs) midfielder signed for John Lambie's Thistle on Monday, 5th July, 1999, having most recently been with Lesmahagow.

Aged 30, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 17th July, 1999, in a 2-0 defeat away to Livingston in the Motorola Cup .

There were no goals for Eddie during his spell with Thistle.

He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 25th September, 1999, in a 2-0 defeat at home to Ross County in the SFL Second Division, having appeared as a Jag on 9 occasions.

Eddie's club-list included Lesmahagow, Partick Thistle and Shotts Bon Accord.

Another of the players who joined Thistle in the summer of '99 from the Junior ranks. Despite the reputation as a midfielder who could score goals Eddie was unable to make any impact in his few months at Firhill and returned to the Junior grade to sign for Shotts Bon Accord.
