Derek Whyte was born on Saturday, 31st August, 1968, in Glasgow.

The 6' 0 (13st 2lbs) defender signed for John Lambie's Thistle on Tuesday, 2nd July, 2002, having most recently been with Aberdeen.

Aged 33, he made his debut appearance on Tuesday, 16th July, 2002, in a 2-0 friendly win away to Derry City.

There were no goals for Derek during his time with Thistle.

He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 13th December, 2003, in a 3-0 defeat at home to Aberdeen in the Scottish Premier League, having appeared as a Jag on 56 occasions.

Derek's club-list included Hamilton Thistle, Celtic, Middlesbrough, Aberdeen and Partick Thistle.
