Bio Extra

A player long time admired by John Lambie, the Thistle manager finally managed to secure his services on the eve of the 94/95 season. Derek quickly endeared himself to the Thistle fans with a long-range debut strike against Kilmarnock on a beautifully sunny day at Firhill. An attack minded midfielder Derek was always able to chip in with a goal. Stayed with Thistle following relegation from the Premier League but was given a free transfer when Thistle failed to bounce back to the top division in their first attempt. He had a brief spell back at the club in season 99/00 but eventually retired after being plagued by injuries.
