Denis Connaghan was born on Friday, 9th January, 1976, in Glasgow. The 6' 1 (11st 10lbs) defender signed for John Lambie's Thistle on Thursday, 26th April, 2001, having most recently been with Queen's Park. Aged 25, he made his debut appearance on Wednesday, 18th July, 2001, in a 5-1 win at home to Alan Morgan Select in a Benefit match. There were no goals for Denis during his time with Thistle. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 22nd September, 2001, in a 3-2 defeat away to Ross County in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 17 occasions. Denis's club-list included Benburb, Clydebank, Queen's Park, Stenhousemuir, Partick Thistle, Arbroath and Neilston Juniors. |

Champions! McCulloch headed the opener from a Burns corner (22). After the break Cameron hit the bar then, set up by McLean, Fleming scored from close in, breaking his leg in the process (51). St Mirren never looked like spoiling the party and Thistle saw the game out to take the title. |
