David Bruce was probably born in the 1860s or early 1870s, in Scotland. * The midfielder signed for Thistle in August, 1891. He made his first known appearance on Saturday, 29th August, 1891, in a 6-5 friendly defeat away to Queen's Park. David scored his first-known goal for Thistle on Saturday, 27th February, 1892, in a 2-2 draw away to Glasgow Thistle in the Scottish Alliance. He scored the last of his 7 known goals on Wednesday, 15th August, 1894, in a 1-1 friendly draw at home to Third Lanark. He played his last known game for the club on Saturday, 27th April, 1895, in a 6-0 friendly win at home to Neilston, having clocked up at least 124 appearances for the Thistle. His known club-list included only Partick Thistle. We don't know where or when David died. *
