Colin Smith was born on Tuesday, 9th January, 1951, in Springburn, Glasgow. The forward signed for Davie McParland's Thistle on Tuesday, 2nd May, 1972, having most recently been with Queen's Park. Aged 21, he made his debut appearance on Sunday, 16th July, 1972, in a 3-0 neutral-venue win against Allmänna Idrottsklubben in the July Cup. Colin scored his only goal for Thistle on Wednesday, 19th July, 1972, in a 2-0 win away to Sirius in the July Cup. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 17th November, 1973, in a 7-0 defeat away to Celtic in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 16 occasions. Colin's club-list included Glasgow College of Building, Queen's Park, Partick Thistle and Stranraer. |
