Charles McKendrick was born in Linwood, Renfrewshire, although his date of birth remains unknown to us. * The 5' 7 (11st 0lbs) defender signed for George Easton's Thistle on Wednesday, 4th August, 1926, having most recently been with Clydebank FC. He made his debut appearance on Saturday, 14th August, 1926, in a 1-1 draw away to Falkirk in the SFL First Division. There were no goals for Charlie during his time with Thistle. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 7th September, 1929, in a 2-2 draw at home to Hamilton Academical in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 25 occasions. His club-list included St Anthony's, Clydebank FC, Partick Thistle, Morton and Dunfermline Athletic. We don't know where or when Charlie died. *

Thistle had the edge for the first 15 minutes but found the home defence a tough proposition. KP got into the game and hit the post. A clearance off the line denied Thistle the opener just on h-t. A drive (67) won the cup. Gibbs got his fingers to the shot but couldn't keep it out. Earlier, Torbet had missed a penalty. |
