Robert Ferguson Torrance was born on Tuesday, 12th August, 1958, in Glasgow. The forward signed for Bertie Auld's Thistle on Thursday, 9th October, 1980, having most recently been with Hibernian. Aged 22, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 11th October, 1980, in a 0-0 draw away to Dundee United in the SFL Premier Division. Bobby scored his only goal for Thistle on Tuesday, 16th December, 1980, in a 3-1 win away to Clyde in the Glasgow Cup. He played his last game for the club on Monday, 12th January, 1981, in a 1-0 win at home to Rangers in the Glasgow Cup, having appeared as a Jag on 11 occasions. Bobby's club-list included St Mirren, Hibernian, Partick Thistle, Stirling Albion, Brechin City, Arbroath and Alloa Athletic. |
