Archibald Stanners McNeish was born on Tuesday, 27th January, 1920, in Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire.

The forward appeared for Donald Turner's Thistle in October, 1942, having most recently been with Bathgate Thistle.

Aged 22, he made his only appearance on Saturday, 31st October, 1942, in a 2-1 defeat at home to Motherwell in the Southern League.

There were no goals for Archie in his one-off appearance for Thistle.

His club-list included Bathgate Thistle, Falkirk and Partick Thistle.

Archie died on Sunday, 16th August, 1992, in Falkirk, aged 72.

Son of Emerson Dawson McNeish (Ship Plater's Helper) and Mary Reid McNeish (née Stanners).

Archie was a centre forward for Bathgate Thistle who guested for both Falkirk and Partick Thistle in season 1942-43.
