Archie McCallum was born in Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire, although we've been unable to establish a date as of yet. * The 5' 8 (10st 10lbs) forward signed for Davie Meiklejohn's Thistle on Tuesday, 11th November, 1947, having most recently been with Yoker Athletic. He made his debut appearance on Saturday, 22nd November, 1947, in a 2-1 win away to Third Lanark in the SFL First Division. Archie scored his first two goals for Thistle on Saturday, 3rd April, 1948, in a 6-2 win at home to Dundee in the SFL First Division. He scored the last of his 20 goals on Saturday, 4th October, 1952, in a 2-0 friendly win away to Clachnacuddin. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 28th March, 1953, in a 3-0 defeat at home to Dundee in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 68 occasions. Archie's club-list included Renfrew Waverley, Yoker Athletic and Partick Thistle.
