 Andrew John Dowie was born on Friday, 25th March, 1983, in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire. The 6' 1 (12st 6lbs) defender signed for Derek Whyte & Gerry Britton's Thistle on Friday, 23rd July, 2004 (after a trial period), having most recently been with Rangers. Aged 21, he made his debut appearance on Monday, 12th July, 2004, in a 2-0 friendly win away to Stenhousemuir. Andy scored his first goal for Thistle on Wednesday, 22nd September, 2004, in a 3-1 defeat away to Dunfermline Athletic in the League Cup. He scored his second and final goal for the club on Saturday, 20th April, 2013, in a 2-0 win away to Falkirk in the SFL First Division. He played his last game for Thistle on Saturday, 27th April, 2013, in a 3-3 draw at home to Dunfermline Athletic in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 43 occasions.
