A skilful midfielder who had seen service with Dundee United and Walsall as well as Accies and Falkirk, he wasn't a prolific scorer from midfield in the mould of Ray Famingham and Albert Craig, but he did have the pleasant habit of netting late goals against Rangers - twice in the closing minutes of games Alex's goals earned Thistle a point. He helped Ross County to the Third Division title a few years ago and played out the rest of his career in the lower divisions. |
