Alex Brown was born on Friday, 15th August, 1930, in Glasgow.

The 5' 11 (11st 6lbs) defender signed for David Meiklejohn's Thistle on Thursday, 5th October, 1950, having most recently been with Irvine Meadow XI.

Aged 20, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 6th January, 1951, in a 3-1 win away to Rangers in the SFL First Division.

There were no goals for Alex during his time with Thistle.

He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 29th December, 1956, in a 2-1 defeat away to Ayr United in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 14 occasions.

His club-list included Irvine Meadow XI, Partick Thistle, Irvine Victoria, Preston North End and Carlisle United.

Alex died on Thursday, 19th August, 2004, aged 74.
