Albert Hughes Craig was born on Wednesday, 3rd January, 1962, in Glasgow.

The 5' 8 (11st 5lbs) midfielder signed for John Lambie's Thistle on Friday, 28th August, 1992, having most recently been with Dundee.

Aged 30, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 29th August, 1992, in a 6-3 win at home to Dundee in the SFL Premier Division.

Albert scored his first goal for Thistle on Saturday, 7th November, 1992, in a 2-0 win away to Motherwell in the SFL Premier Division.

He scored the last of his 35 goals on Saturday, 4th March, 2000, in a 2-0 win at home to Arbroath in the SFL Second Division.

He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 6th May, 2000, in a 3-2 defeat away to Arbroath in the SFL Second Division, having clocked up 158 appearances as a Jag.

Albert's club-list included Yoker Athletic, Dumbarton, Hamilton Academical, Newcastle United, Northampton Town, Dundee, Partick Thistle, Falkirk and Stenhousemuir.

Bio Extra

A free transfer from Dundee, the midfielder more then repaid the money that wasn't spent on him. In his first season he managed just one goal from that midfield berth, but the next season that figure was increased to an astonishing 18. It was a figure that not only made him Thistle's top scorer but one of the top scoring midfielders in Britain. He remained with Thistle during the 95/96 season but left to team up with John Lambie at Falkirk but not before he found the net on a further 10 occasions for Thistle. Returned to Firhill during for one final season following a spell at Stenhousemuir, before hanging up his boots in June 2000.
