Bio Extra

Started playing football at St Peters Primary School in Partick. He was recommended to Thistle at a young age and progressed through the club's youth system. Born in March, 2001, Aidan was a young man of firsts. When he was introduced in the 78th minute of a July 2017 pre-season friendly at The Rock, he duly became the the first bona-fide 21st century Jag. A year later he came on as a sub and scored in a 2-0 League Cup at Albion Rovers and became the first 21st century Jag to appear for Thistle in competitive action. On his first competitive start, versus Stranraer in the 2018–19 Scottish Challenge Cup, he scored two goals and had an assist in a 5–0 victory, winning an Irn-Bru Golden Balls award.

Aidan signed a new long-term contract in September 2018 and Thistle confirmed in January 2019 that the club had received two bids for him, one in the summer of 2018 and one in January 2019, however, both bids were turned down. He scored his first league goal for the club in the 2-1 away win to Inverness Caledonian Thistle in February 2019, and the following month he scored a memorable stoppage time winner for Thistle in a 2-1 home win over Dundee United. In his first season of senior football, Fitzpatrick made 30 appearances for the Jags across all competitions, and finished second-top scorer with seven goals.

On 5 July 2019, he signed for Premier League club Norwich City for a fee reported to be in the region of Β£350,000. On 24 August 2020, he transferred to the Scottish Championship with Queen of the South in a season-long loan deal. On 8 September 2021, after securing his contract release from the Canaries, Fitzpatrick signed a one-year permanent contract with the Doonhamers. In March 2021, he scored the only goal away to Cove Rangers, taking the Dumfries club to the Challenge Cup final.

With his future undecided in the summer of 2022, Ian McCall invited Aidan back to Firhill for a pre-season trial, and he played in the first half of a 3-1 win away to Alloa Athletic. For some strange reason, Thistle had to pay some sort of development fee to Queen of the South, but did so, and Aidan subsequently signed for a second spell at Firhill, signing a 2 year deal on 13th July 2022, extended to the summer of 2026 just one year later.
