A. Moffat (forename unknown) was probably born in Scotland, although his place and date of birth remain unknown to us. * The midfielder joined Thistle in 1891. He made his first known appearance on Saturday, 3rd October, 1891, in a 5-0 win at home to Cathcart in the Glasgow Cup. There were no known goals for Moffat during his spell with Thistle. He played his last known game for the club on Thursday, 27th April, 1899, in a 3-2 friendly defeat at home to Derby County, having appeared for the Thistle on at least 7 occasions. His known club-list included only Partick Thistle. We don't know where or when Moffat died. *

Spent a couple of seasons at Inchview when Thistle played league football for the very first time as founding members of the Scottish Alliance, although he was mainly confined to the Partick Thistle Swifts. Returned as a guest in the springtime of 1899 for a friendly match at Meadowside; Thistle 2 Derby County 3. |
