MP 16/10/2010. Scully, McGeough, Baxter, Lochhead, Balatoni, Stevenson, CAIRNEY (2 - 1 pen), Campbell, GREHAN, Bannigan, Fraser. (Pearce.)
A comfortable win with 9 teenagers in the starting XI. After some neat interplay Cairney scored (8). It should have been more emphatic at half-time. Fraser hit the post then Cairney converted a pen (61) then Grehan nodded in at a Bannigan corner (86).
9. Sun-03-Oct-2010 [a] L1-2 Dunfermline Athletic (Scottish Reserve League U-19)
MP 16/10/2010. Shepherd, Pearce, Baxter, Kennedy, Trialist, Campbell, Lochhead, Bannigan, Fraser, Burns, BURBRIDGE. (Sweeney, Clougherty, Hodge.) Rosyth.
There were loads of chances at both ends in a goalless first half. Parity continued until a fine strike put the Pars ahead (67) but Burbridge equalised soon after. A corner for Thistle was cleared and Dunfermline ran up the park and scored the winner (86). Cruel.

MP 30/10/2010. Scully, Dunbar, Baxter, Pearce, Trialist, Campbell, Lochhead, Bannigan, Fraser, Clougherty, Burbridge. (Trialist, Kennedy, SWEENEY.)
Slack defending and wasted chances! Airdrie went ahead (23) and hit the bar (24). Fraser shot narrowly past then it was 4-0 at half-time and 5-0 (47). Fraser hit the bar then the defence was ripped open again for 6-0 before Sweeney's late consolation.
12. Tue-19-Oct-2010 [a] W7-2 Annan Athletic (Scottish Reserve League Cup section game)
MP 30/10/2010. Shepherd, McGEOCH, Erskine, Lochhead, Balatoni, Maxwell, Campbell, Hodge, BUCHANAN (4), DONNELLY, Bannigan. (FRASER, Burbridge.)
Buchanan volleyed home the opener (13) but Annan scored after the ball had rebounded off the bar. Buchanan headed in only for a deflected shot off Maxwell to make it 2-2 at half-time. Buchanan(2), Donnelly McGeough and Fraser made for a big win.

Thistle couldn't break down a stubborn Alloa defence in the first half. Burbidge's shot just over the bar was a close as they got. A loose ball at a corner (52) put Alloa ahead but Bannigan scored (56) then Fraser rushed past his marker and fired home the winner.

MP 13/11/2010. Scully, Dunbar, Pearce, Kennedy, Lochhead, CAMPBELL, Burbridge, Bannigan, CLOUGHERTY, FRASER, Sweeney. (Hodge.)

MP 11/12/2010. Scully, McGEOUGH, Pearce, Lochhead, Ketterer, Maxwell, Fraser, CAMPBELL, Grehan, Donnelly, McGrotty. (Baxter, Trialist, Burbridge.)
Dumbarton's 100% record survived but it was a close match. A fine strike and a defensive error found Thistle 2-down after 12 minutes. A 25-yarder by Campbell reduced the lead (20). McGeoch turned and shot home (72) but A through ball led to the winner (80).

MP 29/1/2011.LOCHHEAD. Line-up as yet unsourced. Played at Petershill FC.
Top of the league Livingston strengthened their position with a good win and were 3-up before Lochhead scored with a well-taken free-kick. Thistle were much improved after the interval but not enough to make any inroads into the deficit.
20. Tue-25-Jan-2011 [h] W2-0 Queen of the South (Scottish Reserve League Cup section game)
MP 29/1/2011. Halliwell, McGEOUGH, Campbell, McNamara, Balatoni, Robertson, Lochhead, MacBeth, FRASER, Grehan, Flannigan. (Pearce.) Played at Glasgow Green.
After a long layoff most of the action came after an untidy and disjointed first half. McGeough scored with a dipping shot over the keeper's head from the touchline (55). Fraser turned his marker and shot home (80) to secure the points
21. Sun-06-Feb-2011 [h] L0-4 Falkirk (Scottish Reserve League U-19)

MP 5/3/2011. Lochhead, McGeough, Baxter, Trialist, Ketterer, Campbell, HODGE, Pearce, FRASER (2), HEPBURN, YOUNG. (SHAW.) Played at Petershill FC.
Hepburn and Hodge gave Thistle a 2-goal lead but Cowdenbeath hit back (35) before Fraser rounded the keeper for 4-1. It was 4-2 just on half-time. Shaw headed in for 5-2, Thistle conceded twice then Young prevented any miracle comeback late on.

MP 7/5/2011. Scully, McGeough, Pearce, Trialist, Ketterer, Trialist, Trialist, Lochhead, Fraser, Burns, Donnelly. (Richardson, Burbridge.) Home fixture played at Dumbarton.
Two quick goals set the scene on this match inside 20 minutes -poor defending at both. Thistle with an inexperienced line-up made little impression. Two more goals in the dying minutes rubbed it in. But for Scully it could have been worse.

2010-11 Reserves summary notes

P30 W11 D4 L15 (1.233 ppg)

Historical PT Reserves average: 1.462 ppg (@ 22-Aug-2023)
  • The points-per-game measurements (ppg) above are calculated on the same principle as the first-team's all games category, and are based on 1 point for a draw and 3 points for a win across all eras.
  • All games where the outcome is unknown (U) are excluded from the game count / stats summary.
  • Final League Position: unknown, no final table found. Certainly bottom third, 15/57 pts for matches played.
  • Home venues seem to be all over the place. PT prog lists 24 teams, 23 matches home or away, although we can only find 19. Last PT prog (March) shows East Fife, Clyde, East Stirlingshire and Ayr Utd were still playing, so it's unlikely they withdrew from the league. No sign of these matches in the fixtures/results column. Frustratingly, coverage of reserves petered out with virtually no coverage in April of May.
  • Final Scottish Reserve League Cup Position: 1st of 6, 22/30 pts. The semi-final was held over until 1/9/2011.
