– A real cut and thrust match with goals galore - 5 of the 8 coming from rehearsed moves. It was 3-3 at half-time but it was the home side who got two more without replay in the 2nd half. |
7. Sat-30-Aug-1975 [h] W2-0 Morton (Combined Reserve League) |

– MP 27/9 & WEN 19/9/1975. FRAME (2), GIBSON. Line-up as yet unsourced. |
– A fine run by Frame, slotting past the keeper, made it 1-0. Kilmarnock equalised, chipping Herriot, then a rocket shot by Gibson made it 2-1. Killie equalised (looking off-side). The second half was towsy and poor quality but Frame scored from a Gibson pass. |

– MP 27/9 & WEN 26/9/1975. MELROSE, FRAME (3), FITZPATRICK. Line-up as yet unsourced, but also included Weir. |
– It was a one-sided contest and easy win with Melrose opening the scoring with a rising shot. A mazy run by Frame made it 2-0 then he rounded the keeper for 3-0. He rode a tackle to complete his hat-trick and Fitzpatrick got number 5 with a strong shot. |

– MP 1/11/1975. KELLY, McINTOSH. Line-up as yet unsourced, but also included Westwater, Thomson, Trialist, (Melrose). |
– Arbroath missed a pen, had a goal disallowed and missed an open goal before half-time. They finally took the lead soon after the break but goals from Kelly and McIntosh secured the rather fortunate points. |
14. Thu-30-Oct-1975 [a] W3-1 Queen's Park (Combined Reserve League) |
– SFHA. Line-up and scorers as yet unsourced. |
15. Sat-08-Nov-1975 [h] W2-0 St Mirren (Combined Reserve League) |
– MP 15/11/1975. MELROSE, McINTOSH. Line-up as yet unsourced. |
– A dour St Mirren side seemed intent to stop Thistle playing and the game deteriorated into a long-ball affair. Goals by Melrose early on and McIntosh just before half-time settled things. |
16. Sat-15-Nov-1975 [a] W3-0 Kilmarnock (Combined Reserve League) |
– GH 17/11/1975. Line-up and scorers as yet unsourced. |

– MP 27/12/1975. McINTOSH (2), MARR. Line-up as yet unsourced. First round bye. |
– The young Thistle side (with 10 teenagers and Herriot) got a standing ovation after an excellent performance against a more experienced Celtic XI. McIntosh scored either side of half-time then Marr smashed in number three late on only for Celtic to pull one back even later. |
18. Sat-27-Dec-1975 [a] W2-1 Arbroath (Combined Reserve League) |
– SP 28/12/1975 & BFG 3/1/1976. KELLY, CLARK. Line-up as yet unsourced. |

– MP 31/1/1976. McDONALD. Won 3-1 on penalties. Line-up as yet unsourced. Date uncertain. |
– McDonald scored when the keeper failed to hold a McIntosh effort and it remained 1-0 until Dumbarton equalised 2 minutes from time. Extra time was goalless and the 3-1 win on penalties was thanks to a converted pen by keeper Herriot! |
21. Sat-31-Jan-1976 [a] W1-0 Clyde (Combined Reserve League) |
– MP 7/2/1976. McDonald. Line-up as yet unsourced. Date uncertain. |
22. Sat-07-Feb-1976 [a] D2-2 Morton (Combined Reserve League) |
– MP 14/2/1976. KELLY (2). Line-up as yet unsourced. |
– Two first half goals by Kelly put Thistle in a strong position but sloppy play developed. Melrose missed an excellent chance, Morton scored (looking offside) then again (definitely offside!). To be fair, it was a fair result. |
23. Thu-19-Feb-1976 [h] W1-0 Queen's Park (Combined Reserve League) |
– MP 28/2/1976. MELROSE. Line-up as yet unsourced. |
– A solitary goal from Melrose was enough to beat Queen's Park and secure the championship. |

– MP 28/2/1976. McINTOSH (2), McDONALD (pen), MELROSE. Line-up as yet unsourced. |
– Two goals from McIntosh, a McDonald penalty and a spectacular 30-yarder from Melrose shattered the highly rated Scottish Youth XI who scored with the last kick of the ball. |
