DC 7/9/1925. SMITH, McDOUGALL. Line-up as yet unsourced.
The first half was featureless until a rocket shot put Dundee ahead (40) then Smith equalised (42). Dundee dominated for long spells after half-time. They hit the woodwork 3 times as Thistle defended desperately, living dangerously, then McDougall scored on a breakaway.

FH 16/9/1925. Harrison, Paton, Munro, Cochrane, Rutherford, Richmond, McNeill, Stark, Hair, McDougal, McLean. Scorer as yet unsourced.
Falkirk A" supreme". The home team had little difficulty in sweeping Thistle aside - and that was after going behind in 5 minutes (scorer not identified). They led 2-1 at h-t and the 2nd half was a formality.

CL 3/10/1925. Harrison, Murphy, Donald, Rutherford, Chatton, Richardson, Crabbe, Lindsay, GIBSON, Bennie, Torbet.
Airdrie took an early lead, a slanting shot deceiving Harrison, but slack defending let in Gibson to equalise. It was soon 3-1 however. Thistle had a good spell after h-t then Airdrie hit the post with a pen and later scored with a long effort off the bar.

APJ 14/12/1924. TORBET. Line-up as yet unsourced.
The points never looked like going south as Aberdeen dominated the play for a convincing win. The only highlight for Thistle was the play of Torbet who scored. He also saw his penalty saved.

Neither players or spectators took this Tuesday night friendly too seriously. The first half was uneventful. Cliftonville had a good spell after h-t and opened the scoring. The game livened up and Reid (H) got the equaliser. Thistle finished on top but it ended 1-1.

PDE 21/4/1926. Ramsay, Reid, Paton, Logan. Rutherford, McDougall, McNeil, McIntyre, Reid, Corrance, Torbet.
Smaller and lighter, Thistle never looked serious challengers. A 25-yarder beat Ramsay to put Saints ahead at h-t. Thistle were swamped in the second half in which the Saints No 9 took his total to 5.
31. Mon-26-Apr-1926 [a] L0-3 Rangers (Scottish Alliance)
GH 27/4/1926. Ramsay, Paton, McDonald, Wilson, Watson, McDougall, McNeil, McIntyre, Gibson, Corrance, Torbet.
A lovely solo run and shot from 15 yards beat Ramsay to open the scoring (25). Thistle tried hard to get level but there were few scoring opportunities. A second goal on the hour from close in and a goal from a scrimmage 2 minutes later sealed a comfortable win.

Historical PT Reserves average: 1.462 ppg (@ 22-Aug-2023)
  • The points-per-game measurements (ppg) above are calculated on the same principle as the first-team's all games category, and are based on 1 point for a draw and 3 points for a win across all eras.
  • Final League Position: cannot be verified. To the best of our knowledge, Aberdeen [h] was not played, and Thistle played 29 of 30. Raith Rovers replaced by Hibs 11/1925. Only one team fulfilled its fixtures.
